How can Secure Parenting help you?

Our family

If I had to describe my family with one word, I would choose paradoxical. At any given moment there is a see-saw effect happening, when one person’s needs or wants seem to be in direct opposition to another’s. For example, my younger child is a verbal processor, my older child is quiet and deeply introverted.

In order to live together peacefully we have had to prioritize flexibility and acceptance, while patiently moving beyond old patterns of control, coercion, and rigidity. We now play with autonomy, freedom of choice, tolerance for differences, celebration of enthusiasms, and a future that feels out of focus most days.

Love and connection can serve as guideposts while we create our own unique roadmap ♡

My approach

My work is infused with personal and professional knowledge and experience, authenticity, humor, and intuition. At my core I am all about connection and growth. I love to partner with people who are curious about themselves, their children, and their communities. I lean heavily upon a variety of family therapy models and remain deeply committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming care.

Client love

In Alexis' course we felt less alone.
We were able to hear from other parents with similar challenges in a non-judgmental, safe space. The reassurance we have felt just in being in community with parents going
through similar struggles has been huge.

Client love

It was really helpful to hear what other parents were going through - the similarities as well as the differences. It was kind of a group healing, with a lot of laughter and perspective, and a good dose of clinical research to inform us along the way.

F.A.Q.

  • Not to worry. Alexis will make sure that you receive all of the content that was covered during the missed call.

  • Yes. You can be fully refunded (minus a processing fee) if you attend the first meeting and decide that it isn’t the right fit for you. Please understand however that everyone will likely be quite nervous that first meeting - it’s only natural when beginning something new. If you are unsure of how you feel you are welcome to reach out to Alexis and share your concerns as well as have a conversation. This will give you a chance to process your feelings in a safe place before you decide to leave the program.

  • You are welcome to pay the full fee at the time of registration or work out a payment plan based upon the options provided when registering. If you need more information please reach out to me.

  • Possibly. Some health insurance carriers in the US will reimburse for coaching. You will need to call Member Services using the number on the back of your health ins. card. You may also be able to use your Health Savings Account to pay for the program - again, ask your specific carrier about it.

  • A therapy group requires the facilitator to diagnose each participant with a mental health disorder from the DSM-V. Because Alexis has moved away from this medical model she is not interested in diagnosing people who participate in the group. However, she is still interested in providing a therapeutic experience! So, essentially, you receive the benefit of a healing group without the DSM-V involved.

  • It happens!  Not a problem. You can always download the recording if you miss any parts of the call. Alexis is quite familiar with interruptions herself.

  • Simple answer: we are all over-booked. And we still have to make time for ourselves to heal, grow, and evolve IF we want things to change. Complicated answer: this is completely up to you. If the time isn’t right, join the next round instead!

  • This is a great topic to discuss with Alexis during your free info call.

  • Alexis is committed to providing a safe and structured experience for every participant. If you have any concerns about this you are welcome to speak with her directly during your free call or at any point throughout the program.
